Chemmy (full name: Chimene Mary Alcott) was born on 10th July 1982.

Ski racer Chemmy Alcott takes part in various skiing events, including Slalom, Giant Slalom, Downhill, Super G and Combined.

Chemmmy is ranked the number one female ski racer in Britain.

Chemmy Alcott won all of the British titles as a junior, and throughout her ski racing career, her performances have been compared to the GB men rather than women.

Chemmy struggled with injury in 2005, but her return to form in 2006 was heralded by her downhill at the Winter Olympics when she finished in 11th in 1:57.85 - the best downhill result for a British woman in the Olympics for 38 years.

Chemmy Alcott also finished 19th in the super-G with a time of 1:34.20, but was disqualified in the women's combined because her skis broke regulations.

Alcott was voted British Ski and Snowboard Federation Winter Olympian of the Year in 2006 for her performances at the Winter Games in Turin.

The BBC reported how Chemmy Alcott was so desperate to be involved in the 2012 Olympics that she was considering taking up women's boxing.
