Monday, 13 March 2006

England's swimmer Mark Foster will retire later this year, which means that Melbourne 2006, his sixth Commonwealth appearance, will be his last.

His international career has covered 21 years, and Foster will retire after the World Swimming Championships.

In Melbourne Foster competes in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly events and if he is in the medals it will mean that he has medalled at all six of his Commonwealth Games with a haul of eight medals for England including two golds.
