Commonwealth Games: Day 3 Print E-mail
Saturday, 18 March 2006

Team England moved into second place in the Commonwealth Games, behind the seemingly unassailable Australia, with 8 golds, 11 silvers and 6 bronze medals.

England had a good day taking five golds, four silvers and two bronzes.

It was also a good day personally for marksman Mick Gault, who equalled Karen Pickering’s record winning his 13th Commonwealth Games medal - a silver with Nick Baxter in the 10m air pistol pairs.

Just outside the medals were Imogen Cairns who finished fourth in the women’s individual all-around gymnastics competition, and Tim Don who finished fourth in the triathlon.
