Sven-Göran Eriksson in the Sunday Times today had high praise for Joe Cole and Wayne Rooney. Of Joe Cole, Eriksson said: "He would have to be my England player of the year. I always believed in him because his talent is incredible ..." Eriksson praised Cole's manager Mourinho and added that "Since I’ve been in the job, Frank Lampard and John Terry are our most improved players." Eriksson said that Rooney was irreplaceable, and added that if pressed he would be most worried about injuries to Paul Robinson and David James as England do not have strength in depth in the goalkeeper position. |
