Full name: Katherine Brunt Born: July 2, 1985, Barnsley County: Yorkshire Test Debut: v New Zealand, 2004 ODI Debut: v South Africa, 2005 Bowling: Right Arm Medium Notes: Katherine's hero is fellow Barnsleyite, Darren Gough; and Darren's brother Adrian had an important role in her development when he captained Barnsley second XI (which also included Brunt's brother and father). Katherine came to prominence when Lucy Pearson announced her retirement in April 2005 and her fantastic performances against Australia helped England take the Ashes and resulted in Katherine being named as one the Vodafone England Cricketers of the Year for 2006, along with Freddie Flintoff.
