Sri Lanka ended the day with a second innings total of 381-6 before bad light stopped play at Lords.

The visitors ended up 22 runs ahead of England with four wickets in hand mainly thanks to their captain Mahela Jayawardene's 119.

Earlier in the day Andrew Strauss had dropped a relatively easy chance from Jayawardene on 58.
