England 3-1 Hungary Print E-mail
Tuesday, 30 May 2006
England secured a decent 3-1 victory over Hungary with positive signs for the World Cup.

In particular, Steven Gerrard played well in a Wayne-less world as an attacking midfielder linking to Michael Owen.

Another plus sign for England was the excellent performance of skipper David Beckham, whose free-kicks set up goals from Steven Gerrard and John Terry.

Substitute Peter Crouch was the other England scorer.

Theo Walcott, who was another substitute, became the youngest ever England international at 17 years 75 days.
