Up until then England had failed to impress and had survived a dangerous moment just before half-time thanks to a great John Terry clearance off-the-line. In the 90th minute a great Steven Gerrard strike took the score to 2-0 - a scoreline which flattered England. When Rooney and Lennon came on as substitutes England's performance picked up but it was not England's greatest game. England's top performances were from Terry, Beckham, Lennon, and Crouch. |
