Boxing: British bantamweight champion Martin Power lost to South Africa's Tshifhiwa Munyai. The referee stopped the contest in the ninth round. The inexperienced Munyai was called in at a week's notice as a replacement for the injured Ian Napa. It was a shock defeat for Power, who had been undefeated in his 20-fight professional career.
Equestrian: Duncan Inglis from Cuckfield, Sussex and Sunkist won the Bunn Leisure Derby Tankard at the Hickstead Derby after a five-horse jump-off.
Darts: Phil Taylor beat Andy Jenkins 3-0 to set up a quarter-final clash with former world champion Dennis Priestley in the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic.
