UK Sport have announced an increase in funding for Winter Olympic and Paralympic sport up to and beyond the Vancouver Games in 2010.

They have targeted the money in line with their medal expectations - the 'No Compromise' investment strategy.

The major winners are bob skeleton and curling.

On the other hand, skating overall is down (although figure skating is being funded for the first time in recent years, and will receive £496,000 to support the development of Ice Dance pair John and Sinead Kerr), and other losers are alpine skiing and snowboard.

Paralympic Winter sport support more than doubles to £350,000.
