As attention focusses understandably on the European Championships, the weekend saw an outstanding performance in the AAA Under 17 Championships.
World Schools 100m Champion Olufunmi Sobodu (Worthing and District Harriers) won the 100m in 10.49 seconds to go second on the UK all-time list alongside Wade Bennett-Jackson and behind only Mark Lewis-Francis (10.31 in 1999).
The result puts Olufunmi Sobodu ahead of Craig Pickering and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey in the rankings.
