Greg Rutherford (Marshall Milton Keynes) took silver in the long jump. He was presented the medal by Lynn Davies, who was the last Britain (37 years ago) to have won a medal in the event at the European Championships.
Kelly Sotherton (Birchfield Harriers) and Jessica Ennis (Sheffield) who were lying second and third in the heptathlon after the first day ended out of the medals.
On a tangent: Dave Collins, of UK Athletics, revealed that over 70 British athletes have missed at least one out-of-competition drugs test. |
