Darren Campbell said: "I decided to call it a day because I'm emotionally drained." UK Athletics Performance Director Dave Collins said: "He's been a great servant of the sport and I am sure he will retain his interest as his input has proved invaluable in the past." Chief Executive of UK Athletics, David Moorcroft said: "Darren has enjoyed an outstanding career in athletics. He has been a fantastic leader of the British relay team for many years, which culminated in Gold at the 2004 Olympics. "His run over 200m in Sydney to take the Silver medal was sensational. Darren was an athlete who could consistently raise his game when it mattered most. I would like to wish him well for the future." |
