England Squad for Euro Qualifiers announced Print E-mail
Saturday, 26 August 2006
England Head Coach Steve McClaren showed his preference for Everton's Andy Johnson as opposed to Arsenal's Theo Walcott.

Whilst Walcott joins Birmingham's Cameron Jerome, Preston's David Nugent and Watford's Ashley Young in the Under-21 strike force, Johnson got recalled to the senior squad after being on stand-by for the World Cup.

Injuries mean that Joe Cole and Gary Neville miss out on inclusion in the 24-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Andorra and Macedonia.

England squad in full: Paul Robinson (Tottenham), Chris Kirkland (Liverpool - Wigan on loan), Ben Foster (Man Utd - Watford on loan), Ashley Cole (Arsenal), Luke Young (Charlton), Phil Neville (Everton), Wayne Bridge (Chelsea), John Terry (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Wes Brown (Man Utd), Michael Dawson (Tottenham), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Owen Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Kieran Richardson (Man Utd), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham), Darren Bent (Charlton), Andrew Johnson (Everton), Peter Crouch (Liverpool)
