England find World Athetics final is not for pansies Print E-mail

The first day of the World Athletics Final was a tough one for GB. Mo Farah came last in the 3,000m and Kelly Sotherton was also last in the long jump.

Tasha Danvers-Smith (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) put in a good performance to finish fifth in the 400m hurdles in 55.23 seconds, very fractionally slower than her Commonwealth Silver medal winning time.

Tasha Danvers-Smith also came out with the quote of the day:

"I wasn't up against against a bunch of pansies out there, they're the best in the world. So that wasn't too bad."
