Paul Casey easily beat Colin Montgomerie 6&5 in the World Match Play semi-finals to set up a final with American Shaun Micheel, who defeated Robert Karlsson.
Meanwhile Ian Poulter fired a third-round 64 to lead the Madrid Masters by four shots. Poulter, who has not made a bogey all week, said:
"Getting back into the top 50 is the only reason I am here. I'm 53 in the world and just outside the top 20 on the Order of Merit. I want to play in the Amex in a couple of weeks and I am here to win. If I can get in that tournament then I could have a massive finish to the end of the year."
