They were almost joined by Robert Blair and Natalie Munt, who had a match point before losing to Jonas Rasmussen and Britta Andersen in a hard fought contest ending 18-21 21-18 24-22. Blair got some compensation by reaching the last eight of the men's doubles. Partnering Anthony Clark they beat Tadashi Ohtsuka and Keita Masuda 19-21 21-13 21-18. However Ian Palethorpe and Kris Roebuck lost to Hwan Ji Man and Han Sang Hoon. Tracey Hallam also reached the last eight by beating Monthila Meemek 21-12 21-7 and now she faces top seed Zhang Ning in the quarter-finals of the women's singles. |
