Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms and Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg reached the last eight of the mixed doubles at badminton's world championships.

They were almost joined by Robert Blair and Natalie Munt, who had a match point before losing to Jonas Rasmussen and Britta Andersen in a hard fought contest ending 18-21 21-18 24-22.

Blair got some compensation by reaching the last eight of the men's doubles. Partnering Anthony Clark they beat Tadashi Ohtsuka and Keita Masuda 19-21 21-13 21-18.

However Ian Palethorpe and Kris Roebuck lost to Hwan Ji Man and Han Sang Hoon.

Tracey Hallam also reached the last eight by beating Monthila Meemek 21-12 21-7 and now she faces top seed Zhang Ning in the quarter-finals of the women's singles.
