Junior Female Athlete: Sian Edwards (Kettering Town Harriers) who took tenth place at the World Cross Country Championships and sixth place in the 5,000m at the World Junior Championships. Junior Male Athlete: Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (Sutton & District) who took gold in the 100m at the World Junior Championships. Best Performance: David Weir, the wheelchair racer who gained two world records in the T54 200m and 400m and three gold medals over 100m, 400m and 1500m at the IPC World Championships. Female Athlete: Becky Lyne (Hallamshire Harriers), who took bronze in the 800m at the European Championships. Male Athlete: Mo Farah (Newham & Essex Beagles) who took silver in the 5,000m final at the European Championships. |
