England down and out Print E-mail
Saturday, 21 October 2006
A poor England side lost to Australia and so are knocked out of the Champions Trophy.

At one stage it looked like England might have cracked their appalling lack of form in one day matches when they reached 83 without loss before Ian Bell fell for 43.

Strauss soon followed for 56, after which only Collingwood put up any resistance as England crumbled to 169 all out.

It took Australia less than 37 overs to overtake their target and England will hope that Steve Harmison will bowl better during the Ashes. His final figures were : 4.5 overs - 45 runs - 1 wicket.
