Jo Pavey wins the Great South Run Print E-mail
Sunday, 22 October 2006
Jo Pavey became the first British woman to win the BUPA Great South Run for eight years.

Pavey, the Commonwealth 5000 metres silver medallist, dominated the field to finish in 52 minutes and 46 seconds.

Jo Pavey's win was in sharp contrast to her collapse with a high blood sugar problem after finishing fourth in the Newcastle-South Shields half marathon.

Jon Brown did really well in the men's race but lost out by just two seconds and was beaten across the line by Simon Arusei and Chema Martinez.
