England started their rugby league Federation Shield campaign with a healthy win over France 26 - 10.

Mark Calderwood scored two tries whilst Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' Jamie Rooney scored one try and set up two others.

England now meet Tonga, who beat Samoa 18-10, on Sunday 29 October - a day after New Zealand v Great Britain in the Tri-Nations.
