Britain's Jo Pavey won the women's race in the 10 kilometres Great Manchester Run.

Pavey finished just ahead of Hungarian Aniko Kalovics with a personal best time of 31 minutes and 47 seconds.

Pavey won by just one second.

Meanwhile Mo Farah took third place in the men's race, with a time of 28 minutes and 7 seconds. It was the fastest time by a British runner for 11 years, but afterwards Farah declared himself disappointed not to have run under 28 minutes.
