Rebecca Adlington's gold is the first in women's swimming for Great Britain since Anita Lonsborough swam in 1960. Adlington’s winning time was 4.03.22, just seven hundredths of a second ahead of Katie Hoff. Joanne Jackson's time was 4.03.52. Adlington and Jackson's gold and bronze mean that Team GB have already overtaken their total medal haul for swimming in Athens 2004 (2 bronze medals). |
